The photo by the campaign group below shows Stroud Mayor Andy Read and Uplands ward councillor Chas Townley along with residents opposing the plans. The site is the first open field to the right of the existing development on the Uplands hillside in the distance behind the group.

Arrangements have been confirmed for a public consultation regarding development proposals for land at Wade’s Farm in Stroud.

Barratt Homes and their professional team are working up proposals for a residential scheme on land located at Wade’s Farm to the north east of Stroud between Folly Lane and Slad Road.

The development proposals would include approximately 50 new homes on the southern part of the site leaving the remainder as open space. The project team is also undertaking surveys into the likely impact of development on the ecology, archaeology and landscaping of the area.

Barratt Homes would like to invite members of the public to comment on emerging development proposals prior to submission of a full planning application.

I have pleasure in inviting you, or your representative, to a key stakeholder session

The exhibition will be open to the public from 1.30pm – 7.30pm on Thursday 20 January 2011, at the George Room, The Subscription Rooms, George Street, Stroud GL5 1AE. The project team will be on hand throughout the event to explain the proposals and answer queries.

Copies of the exhibition materials will also be available to view in Stroud Library, Lansdown, Stroud GL5 1BB.
