Annual Town Meeting April 4th
-
10 Mar 2011
Stroud's Annual Town Meeting will be held this year on April 4th. In a change to recent years we will be holding the event outside of the town centre. Our venue will be the Maypole Village Hall all at Paganhill which has undergone a major refurbishment with grant support from the Town Council. The evening begins at 7.45pm and usually lasts an hour.
The Annual Town Meeting offers an opportunity for any resident to ask any question on any matter of the Town Council. It is also an opportunity for the council to let residents know what it has done in the past year.
The evening also features our Annual Awards Evening where we recognise local people who have made a significant contribution to the town's civic and community life. We also have a Young person Of The Year Award and Trader of the Year Award. Please contact the town council if you have any nominations for any of the categories. The deadline for nominations is Friday 18th March.
Our picture above shows Elizabeth Sergeant, who walked off with our Community Award last year for her work on tending many of the town's small greenspaces. Coverage of last year's event can be found here.
