John Marjoram has been re-elected as Stroud's Mayor for the tenth year. Cllr Marjoram is the only person to have served on the Town Council ever since it was established 21 years ago. He replaces Andy Read who stood down at May's elections after two years in the post.
At the annual meeting of the council on Monday May 16th councillors also elected Amanda Moriarty as Deputy Mayor. Steve Hurrell will chair the council's main Recreation and Finance Committee, Kevin Cranston will chair the Consultations Committee and the chair of the Grants Committee will be Cllr Moriarty.
