Let’s all go to Lansdown-on-Sea

A fun day at the seasideEnjoy a trip to the seaside - without ever leaving Stroud at Lansdown Hall and Gallery on Saturday November 12.

The community centre will be transformed into Lansdown-on-Sea with amusements on the pier, Punch and Judy, candy floss, live music and much more.

Stroud Town Council bought the hall last year to save it from possible closure. Now volunteers and local groups are working flat out to make it a success.

“It’s your community venue and we hope people will pop in, have a look around, enjoy themselves and discover what a great community resource this is,” said Jeremy Collingwood, chairman of the Lansdown Hall charity.

From 2pm there will be bingo, fortune tellers, music, cakes, a human Punch and Judy - something for the entire family.

From 7pm there will be songs, dance, cabaret performances and a bar with R&B band Ken Wood & the Mixers taking to the stage at 9pm.

“Besides being a great opportunity for people to enjoy a visit to the building it is also a chance to raise much needed funds. We are putting the fun into fundraising,” said Helen Wood, event organiser.
