Annual Town Meeting and Awards Evening
Wed, 17 May 2023 19:30
Our annual awards recognise those people – young and old – who go the extra mile.
There are five categories: community, environment, trader, inclusivity and diversity and young person of the year. Groups or individuals can be nominated.
Nominating someone is easy. All you need to do is include the person's name and contact details and a few sentences about why they deserve an award.
The winners will be announced at the Annual Town Meeting on Wednesday 17th May 2023 at St Rose's School, Stratford Lawn, Stroud.
The Annual Town Meeting is open to Stroud residents and is a chance for people to find what has been happening in the town and to discuss town matters.
Nominations can be submitted online or you can pick up a nomination form from the Town Council office in London Road, which is open Mon-Fri 9.30-12.30 or request one by phoning 01453 762817.
The deadline for nominations is 30th April 2023.

The Hidden History of Stroud's Businesses Exhibition
Sat, 27 May 2023 10:00
Did you know that the first Stroud Brewery began in 1760 and that some of Stroud's shops have been trading for over 100 years? As a contribution to National Community History Month, Stroud Brewery is celebrating the little-known business heritage of Stroud with an exhibition of old photos of the businesses that have been the cornerstones of the town centre. Come along to the brewery's taproom any day from 10am to see the exhibition for free. Can you guess which those shops are and how many pubs the brewery used to own? You might be surprised!
