Charges Suspended for Use of Public Spaces

Stroud Town Council is allowing fitness groups to use its parks for free to encourage people to keep fit.

It usually charges private fitness classes and groups to use Park Gardens and Bank Gardens. Councillors decided to temporarily suspend the charges in response to the pandemic.

A town council spokesperson said, "We want to encourage people to exercise and enjoy the fresh air and we hope that by suspending charges we do just that."

Instructors must still book classes in the usual way with the Town Council, meet its requirements for insurance and risk assessment and comply with any Covid restrictions in place at the time.
