Repair Work at the Sub Rooms

Work is due to begin on repairs to the stonework at the Subscription Rooms.

Stroud Town Council is supporting the Subscription Rooms Trust by paying for the essential work, estimated to cost approxiately £35,000.

"It is not unusual for a building such as the Subs, which is 189 years old, to have stone fail and need to be replaced due to cold and damp weather," said Mayor of Stroud Kevin Cranston.

Fencing has been erected at the side of the venue to protect the public.

Scaffolding will be erected at the front and sides so that stonemasons can repair broken stones and carry out preventive work to ensure the building remains in good shape for the future.

The work is due to start 19 April and be completed by approximately mid-July.
