Winter Weather

We are receiving lots of calls from residents, from across Stroud District, asking us for supplies of road grit.

Gloucestershire Roads provide us with a limited supply, which is very quickly used up when we get heavy snow.

If/when we receive a new supply we will endeavour to fill up grit bins in Stroud town.

We also receive lots of requests for new grit bins. The locations for these have to be assessed and approved by Gloucestershire Highways, so they can't be provided overnight.

Other parish and town councils may be able to help with these issues in their areas, but please bear in mind that most councils have very limited staffing and many rely on volunteer snow wardens.
