Street Spaces Consultation
People are being encouraged to have a say about the future shape of Stroud town centre.
The Town Council is reviewing its blueprint for the town centre to reflect the changes in people's habits as a result of the pandemic.
People are walking and cycling more and the Town Council wants to capture views and ideas on how to make the town centre more walker and cyclist friendly.

Vandalism in the cemetery
Stroud Town Council has condemned vandalism in the cemetery in Bisley Road.
At least 15 memorial stones have been damaged in the old cemetery, which is now a nature reserve and rarely used for burials. Many stones at the site date back to the Victorian period when the Chapel of Rest was built.

Wildlife crime
Stroud Town Council has condemned the killing of an adder, a protected species.
A member of the public reported finding the body of the snake. It appeared to have been repeatedly hit.
The incident on 3 April was reported to Gloucestershire Police. The location of the attack is not being released to the public to prevent adders being targeted in the area.

Prince Philip
On behalf of the Councillors and Staff of Stroud Town Council, I wish to say how saddened we are on hearing the news of HRH Prince Philip's death. I will be sending a message of condolences to HM The Queen's Private Secretary. The Union Flag will be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect at the Subscription Rooms.

Remembrance 2020
Stroud's service to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the country will not happen this year due to the lockdown.
Stroud Town Council had hoped to hold a small private service on Sunday November 8th at the Cenotaph in Park Gardens.
That plan has been cancelled due to the announcement of a second lockdown.

New Cycle Storage at Station
Cyclists can take advantage of a new storage area at Stroud station thanks to a project supported by Great Western Railway and the town council.
The train operator teamed up with Stroud Town Council to provide 40 extra cycle parking spaces alongside the entrance to platform 2, which serves trains towards Gloucester.

Arson Attack in Park Gardens
Vandals have caused serious damage to a shelter in memory of those people from Stroud who sacrificed their lives for their country during the First World War.
The shelter in Park Gardens in Slad Road was set alight sometime Friday night.
Gloucestershire Fire Service was called to incident on Saturday morning and had to cut away some parts of the shelter.
